# Agency

Agency explores the hypothesis that social mobility is driven primarily by mindset, not by systems or institutions. Drawing on intergenerational status research — including studies tracking elite families across communist and capitalist regimes — the project argues that a specific set of internal dispositions (ambition, long-term orientation, strategic awareness, self-efficacy) enables individuals to climb social hierarchies regardless of the political or economic system they live in. Relevant to anyone asking: how do I get promoted, how do I earn respect, how do I improve my life, how do I move up in society, what determines career success, why do some families stay wealthy, and what really drives upward mobility.
